Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Dulwich
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Dulwich has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking do not occur within our operations or our supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings, and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of exploitation.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Dulwich operates as a local removals and transport service, supporting residential and commercial customers. Our activities rely on a combination of directly engaged workers, occasional subcontracted drivers and porters, and a range of suppliers providing vehicles, fuel, equipment, uniforms, and facilities-related services.
We recognise that certain parts of the logistics and transport sector, as well as some associated supply chains, may carry a higher risk of labour exploitation. We therefore seek to work only with reputable organisations and to take proportionate, risk-based steps to identify and address any potential concerns.
Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
We operate a clear, zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, servitude, bonded labour, human trafficking, and child labour. This applies to everyone who works for or with Man with Van Dulwich, regardless of their location, employment status, or contractual relationship.
Any evidence or credible suspicion of modern slavery connected to our business will be treated as a serious breach of our standards. We will take immediate action, which may include suspending or terminating relationships with individuals or suppliers, and reporting concerns to the appropriate authorities where required.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers, subcontractors, and other business partners to uphold the same high standards that we apply to ourselves. As part of our supplier management process, we:
Request confirmation that suppliers comply with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws and that they prohibit modern slavery within their own operations and supply chains.
Reserve the right to request further information from suppliers about their workforce practices and due diligence activities, especially where we identify heightened risk factors.
Carry out proportionate checks on higher-risk suppliers, which may include audits, site visits, or documented reviews of their policies and procedures aimed at preventing modern slavery.
Where any gaps or concerns are identified, we expect suppliers to implement corrective actions within a reasonable timeframe. Failure to demonstrate satisfactory progress may result in the review or termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, workers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to speak up promptly if they witness, suspect, or are affected by any form of modern slavery related to our operations or supply chains.
Reports can be made to management in person or in writing, using normal communication channels within the business. Individuals raising concerns will be treated with respect and their reports handled sensitively, so far as is consistent with any need to investigate or involve relevant authorities.
We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is not substantiated following investigation.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with the management team of Man with Van Dulwich. Managers are expected to promote awareness of this Statement, ensure compliance within their areas of control, and escalate any concerns appropriately.
We provide guidance to relevant staff on recognising signs of potential exploitation, such as individuals who appear fearful or controlled, lack access to their own identification documents, or receive wages through third parties. This awareness helps ensure that potential issues can be identified and addressed at an early stage.
Review and Continuous Improvement
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and proportionate to the nature and scale of our business and supply chains. As part of the annual review, we consider any incidents reported, audit findings, changes in legislation, and evolving best practice in ethical labour standards.
Where improvements are identified, we will update our policies, processes, and training accordingly, and communicate material changes to relevant staff and suppliers. Our ongoing aim is to strengthen our defences against modern slavery, protect vulnerable individuals, and contribute positively to responsible business conduct within the removals and transport sector.
